GARDEN CITY—Carlos Matthew Urias IV, 30, died on Friday, Dec. 23,
2022, at his home in Garden City. He was born on June 8, 1992, at Fort
Hood, Texas, the son of Carlos and Lisa (Sandoval) Urias III.
Carlos graduated with the class of 2010 from Garden City High School
where he was involved in football and basketball. He was a server at
several different restaurants in Garden City and currently was serving
at Garden City Steakhouse. He enjoyed comic books, superhero movies,
comedy and music, mainly rap. He was a sports fan, especially of the
Dallas Cowboys and North Carolina Tar Heels.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Lisa and Greg Hands of
Garden City; father, Carlos Urias III of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Samantha Urias and Payton Smith both of Garden City; niece, Gracen Cook of Garden City; maternal grandparents, Benny and Martha
Sandoval of Garden City; and paternal grandparents, Carlos and Mary
Urias of Guymon, Okla.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home. The
service will be on Facebook live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page.
Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
