Carroll James 'Butch' Owens

Carroll James “Butch” Owens, age 76, passed away at the home in Park, Kansas, on Thursday, May 5, 2022. He was born in Quinter, Kansas, to John and Angelita (Weigel) Owens on May 29th, 1946.

Butch graduated from Quinter High School. He was United in marriage to Carolyn Rumback on September 2, 1967. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in the Vietnam War. Butch worked as a farmer, retired form Oneok Gas company, and returned to farming until his death.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Tammy (Tommy) Rich of Kansas City, and Tanya (fiancé Phil Marciniak) of Paola; three grandchildren, Justin (Emily) Munden, Tara (Jason) Wandtke, and Jessica Owens of Olathe; and one great-grandchild Hudson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 13th, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Park, Kansas with Father James Thomas as celebrant. Burial will take place at the Kansas Veteran’s Cemetery in WaKeeney, Kansas, following the services.
