Jetmore – Jeffrey Kenneth “Jeff” Cole, 60, passed away August 7, 2024 at Hutchinson Regional Hospital, Hutchinson.

He was born May 7, 1964 in Hays, Kansas, the son of Kenneth R. “Ken” and Phyllis Jean Naylor Cole.  A lifetime area resident, he was a Professor of Diesel Technology for Dodge City Community College.

He was a member of Jetmore Methodist Church, trustee, praise team and the Methodist Men’s Group.  Jeff was a 4-H leader, State Skills Advisor for DCCC, ASE Certified Master Mechanic, NHRA, and SRCA Dragstrip in Great Bend.  He enjoyed drag racing, camping, fishing, reading and fixing anything and everything

On December 18, 1982, he married Michelle L. Betts in Garden City, KS.  She survives.

Other survivors include: his parents, Kenneth “Ken” and Phyllis Cole, Jetmore; a daughter, Audree (Ben) Worth, Jetmore; sister, Stephanie (Mike) Ochs, Jetmore; brother, Mike (Justin Scott) Cole; two grandchildren, Shanaye Michelle Worth and Addison Kenleigh Worth, Jetmore; mother-in-law, Evelyn Betts, Garden City; two sisters-in-law, Sherri (Greg) Suderman, Garden City and Vicki (Steve) Krehbiel, Holcomb; seven nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Leon Betts.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2024 at Jetmore Methodist Church with Pastor Maria Grimm presiding. Family requests casual dress in purple and gold for DCCC and wear your favorite ball cap.  Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024 with family present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.  Inurnment will be at a later date.
