Earl Schamberger, 70, departed this life May 26, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born August 11, 1953 in WaKeeney, Kansas, the seventh of eight children born to Adolph and Lorene (Dreiling) Schamberger. He attended grade school and high school in Morland, Kansas, graduating in 1971.
Earl met his future soulmate in the first grade. In fact, Earl wanted to give all his Valentine cards to Loyce that year. Of course, his mom insisted he couldn’t do that! August 12, 1972, in St Peter, Kansas, Earl and Loyce (Keith) were joined in Holy Matrimony. We can only imagine the party that followed! Together they raised three children: Trista, Travis, and Adam.
Earl began farming with his dad at an early age. By the time Earl was 39, he took over the total operation of the family farm. In 2009, his son Adam moved home to help Earl on the farm. Adam’s return allowed Earl to “kinda” semi-retire.
Earl loved life. He worked hard and he played hard. In 2016 he opened “The Office”, the local bar in Morland. This took up much of his time. He loved that bar, but he found out it was a full-time job. Again he looked to his son, Adam, for help. So, they went into a partnership in the farming and bar business. They loved the camaraderie they found in the bar, where people could meet and talk and laugh. As we said he loved life and people.
Earl will be dearly missed by his wife, Loyce of Morland; his three children; Trista of Lincoln, Nebraska; Travis and his wife, Ericka, of Thornton, Colorado; Adam and his wife, Adalynn, of Morland; his four grandsons: Toby, Baylor, Caleb, and Peyton and one great granddaughter, Lyra: His three brothers: Kenneth of Blue Springs, Missouri; Alan (Neter) of Council Grove, and Gary of Odessa, Texas; three sisters: Rose Rovles (Robert) of Houston, Texas; Alyce Quattlebaum (Emmet) of Spotsylvania, Virginia; and Janice Burkhardt (Jerry) of Kechi. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathleen.
