Helen Gee, 73, of Oberlin, KS passed away December 1, 2022, in Oberlin. She was born March 18, 1949, in Freeport, TX to George and Ruth (Akins) Pennington.
Helen graduated from Pueblo South High School and went on to attend Pueblo Jr. College and Colby Community College. Helen married Gene Gee on October 18, 1968, in Boone, CO, in the home of Gerald and Stella Gee, his parents. She had worked at the Beamgard Learning Center, Golden Age Center, and as a paraprofessional at DCHS. Most importantly she worked from home, taking care of her family, and supporting her husband in his ministry. She attended the Oberlin Community Fellowship and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She loved to sing in church and often sang with her husband, Gene. Helen enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and playing the piano. She was a wonderful cook and gardener and canned the food she grew in her garden.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dwight Garnhart. She is survived by her husband, Gene of the home; children, Kenny Gee and wife Denise of Oberlin, KS and Beverly Keys and husband Robert of Topeka, KS; grandchildren: Justin Gee of Hurricane, UT, Jacob Gee of Hays, KS, Robbie, James, Katherine, and Nathan Keys all of Topeka, KS.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 5, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Oberlin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 am before the service.
