Lee A. Cramer, 69, died Sunday January 21, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on December 31, 1954 in Emporia, Kansas; the son of Fred R. and Margaret “Peggy” (Trimble) Cramer.
In 1967, Lee’s family relocated to Garden City where his father helped to re-build after a disastrous tornado. Lee attended and graduated from local schools and planted his roots here. As a child, Lee developed an interest in the military which grew into model building WWII aircraft and military equipment, expanding to reading and collecting books and movies about the wars. Other hobbies included working on his Jeep, four wheeling, rocking out to his favorite music, and spending time with his grandsons, children, family and friends.
After spending many years working with the City street department, Lee worked at the Garden City airport. He was proud to be a CDL driver, and first hauled farm equipment. Most recently, he was a dedicated mechanic and driver for Garden City’s branch of the Dodge City Concrete Company. Lee was a true patriot, devoted to God, family and country.
Survivors include his son - Seth Cramer of Garden City, two sisters - Sunny Gail of Longmont, Colorado and Penny (Jerry) Ashcraft of Corpus Christi, Texas, as well as four nieces and four nephews and two grandchildren.Lee is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Shelby Cramer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring with details to be posted when available. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lee Cramer Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
