Mark E. Nichols, 75, passed away March 19, 2024, at Azria Woodhaven, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born on November 10, 1948, in Great Bend, Kansas, to James and Ulanda (Karst) Nichols. Mark was a 1966 graduate of Great Bend High School, where he was very involved in various clubs and activities.
Mark was united in marriage to Barbie Mullin in Great Bend, Kansas in 1975.
Mark lived both in California and Wichita, Kansas, for brief periods of time. Living the majority of his life in Great Bend, he was the station manager for a time at KSN-C T.V., as well as a business owner and helped form Nichols Media Group. Sales were his true calling and what he excelled at. He was a salesman for Magnus Broadheads and provided advertising and marketing services for several area businesses.
Mark was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a gun enthusiast, and enjoyed hunting and shooting, especially north of Russell on his cousin’s farm.
Survivors include one son, Robbie Nichols, and two grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha Nichols, all of Washington state.
He is preceded in death by his parents; aunt, Marlene Becker-Steinle; and grandparents, Oscar and Amelia Karst.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Reverend Tom Thierfelder and Reverend Jay Welshonse presiding.
