Jim H. Nelson, age 84 passed away on March 4, 2024 at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney.&nbsp; He was born on March 9, 1939, Kearney, Nebraska.

Jim was a well-known teacher in the Trego Community High School as well as a farmer and a custom grain harvester.&nbsp; On August 7, 1960, he married Dora Ross in Dighton, Kansas.&nbsp; She survives.

He is also survived by his children, Paul and Lisa Nelson of Irving, Texas and Penny and William Lane of Topeka, Kansas, three grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church, WaKeeney on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.&nbsp; The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Shields Cemetery, Lane County at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Nelson Scholarship for TCHS students.
