Lyle Scott Hooker

Lifelong resident of the Kanorado area, Lyle Scott Hooker, age 60, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Scott was born September 17, 1963, to Truman Leon and Janice Ann (Tubbs) in Burlington, Colorado. He grew up on a farm northeast of Burlington, graduated from Burlington High School in 1982 and Fort Hays State University in 1986 with an agronomy degree. Scott returned to Kanorado to manage Reid Grain, started a seed wheat cleaning business, and continued to farm and ranch. On February 2, 1991, he married Karen Gattshall in Goodland, to this union Cody Jackson and Truman Joshua. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed fishing, antique tractor pulling, baseball, town team basketball and his collections of many treasures.

He is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Janice, in-laws Wayne and Carol Gattshall and Scraggles. Scott is survived by his wife Karen; sons Cody (Rebecca) of Clayton, KS and Truman of Kanorado, KS; grandchildren George and Mary; sisters Brenda Hooker (John Doran) of Kanorado and Karen (Dan) Duell of Goodland; aunts Rilla Koehn, Ruby Tubbs and Dixie Hooker; any many more family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. MT at the Harvest Evangelical Free Church, 521 E. Highway 24, Goodland. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m. MT at the Kanorado Church, 307 N. Main, Kanorado.
