Glenda Kaye Daves, age 81, died Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. She was born April 11, 1943, in Clayton, New Mexico, the daughter of Berlin and Zelpha “Tommy” (Stewart) Crites.
Kaye married Tracy Daves on August 21, 1960. Although she worked at J&J Oilfield Services, Boaldin Appliance and DJ’s Variety Store, being a mom and wife was what she took the most pride in. She loved all animals and fed everything in the neighborhood including squirrels, skunks, birds, cats and dogs. She loved her time spent with friends and family, eating, shopping and playing Bridge. Kaye was a member of Hillcrest Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Allen Daves of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters, Lisa Tucker and husband, John, of Elkhart, and Lana Daves of Elkhart; grandchildren, Tiffani Tucker Dudley and husband, David, Kayla Daves Langston and husband, Chris Greenhaw, Jarrod Tucker and wife, Linell, Peyton Daves and wife, Patience, Makenna Daves and Megan Daves; great-grandchildren, Kacey Langston, Gunner Langston, Cooper Dudley, Kenadi Dudley, Paisley Greenhaw, Kyla Tucker, Luke Tucker, Carter Daves, and Gabby Tucker; and great-great-grandchild, Kendal Langston.
Kaye is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tracy Daves; and grandson, Jordan Forbit.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 18, at 2:00 PM at the First Church of God in Elkhart with Reverend Terrell Giddens officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with family present from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
