Douglas Eugene Cressler, 64, of Jennings, KS passed away July 9, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was born March 25, 1959 in Norton, KS to Alfred E. and Betty A. (Benedict) Cressler.
Doug lived in Selden until he was six years old and then his family moved to Jennings. He was a 1978 graduate of Jennings High School.
He began working for KDOT at the age of 19 and worked there for 43 years.
He enjoyed traveling and going antique shopping, watching western and hunting shows, and hunting in his earlier years. On his travels he liked going prospecting for gold in Arizona and watching steam engines. Doug also enjoyed farming and working on his vehicles.
Doug is survived by his wife, Nancy Lovin of the home; mother, Betty Cressler of Jennings; brothers Don (Trish) Cressler of Norton, KS, Alfred Duane (Stephanie) Cressler of Arlington, KS and Jonathan Cressler of Oberlin, KS; sisters Marsha (Bernie) Chavies of Las Vegas, NV, Beverly (John) Harris of St. Johns, AZ, and Penny (Jeff) Hayward of Oberlin, KS; stepchildren David (Meghan) Obermeyer of New Almelo, KS and James Obermeyer of Norton, KS; 12 nephews, one niece and many great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the Jennings Cemetery, Jennings, KS. Visitation will be from 1-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Pauls Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be sent in care of Pauls Funeral Home, 121 N. Penn Ave., Oberlin, KS 67749.
