Gregory Alan Babcock, Phillips County

Lifelong Phillips County resident, Gregory A. Babcock passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the Smith County Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, KS at the age of 67.
He was born March 23, 1956 in Phillipsburg, KS, the son of Donald and Gloria (Bushnell) Babcock.
Greg was united in marriage to Kim Newlin on July 22, 1978 in Phillipsburg, KS. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: son Grant Babcock and wife Megan of Littleton, CO, and daughters Megan Irvine and husband Brian of Littleton, CO and Melissa DeWitt and husband Randy of Manhattan, KS; seven grandchildren; his father Don Babcock of Phillipsburg; and a sister, Donita Pemberton and husband Jim of Russell, KS.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother Gloria and a brother, Gordon.
Cremation was planned. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Huck Boyd Community Center, Phillipsburg, with Pastors Tony Keesee and Lew VanDerWege officiating. The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page. Inurnment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Olliff-Boeve Momorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Greg Babcock Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is to be awarded to a PHS graduate entering a trade school.
