Donna Marie Bantam, 88, of Norton passed away December 30, 2023 at the Andbe Home. She was born April 22, 1935 in Phillips County, Kansas to Harold and Ethel (Meyers) Breathouwer.
Donna grew up in Prairie View and graduated from the Phillips County School District in Prairie View. Donna married Jerry DeWayne Bantam on April 29, 1956 in Prairie View, KS. They made their home in Colorado Springs, CO, Germany, and Almena before moving to Norton where they raised their family. She worked at the First State Bank in Norton, was the secretary for the family businesses, Norton Flying Service and Norton Chemical and Fertilizer and later she was the Activity Director at the Andbe Home. Most of all she loved the time she spent raising her three boys and spending time with her family. After they were grown, she began making Victorian style lamp shades. She sold them locally and nationwide. Donna was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Norton First United Methodist Church.
Donna is survived by her sons: Michael (Patti) Bantam of Boise, ID and Randall Bantam of Almena, KS; grandson, Joshua Bantam of Wichita, KS and great grandchildren: Gavin and Shelby Bantam of Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry in 2015; son, Mark Bantam; grandson, Ryan Scott Bantam, and sisters, Wava Lee Hogan and Patsy Lindenmeyer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, January 5, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Norton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024 also at the funeral home.
