Hanston – Dean Alan Hoagland, 75, passed away August 18, 2024 at his home in Hanston.

He was born February 17, 1949 in Broken Bow, NE, the son of Darrell Wayne and Elsie Marie Wilson Hoagland. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and laborer.

He was a member of the Hanston United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972.

On August 28, 1985 he married Carolyn June Woodring in Wilroads Gardens, KS.  She survives.

Other survivors include: two stepdaughters, Diana (David) Myers, Dodge City and JoAnna Hamil, Cherokee, OK; two brothers, Dale (Linda) Hoagland, Fort Morgan, CO and Don Hoagland, Brighton, CO; four grandchildren, Derek, Devin, Lewis, Robert, and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Thomas Coulter; two grandsons, Justin and David and a granddaughter, Summer.

Memorial graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024 at Hanston Cemetery, Hanston with Harmon Bliss presiding.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.  Inurnment will be at the Hanston Cemetery with military honors.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hanston United Methodist Church or American Legion in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, KS 67854.
