Rulene Marie (Balluch) Rosproy

Rulene Marie (Balluch) Rosproy, age 71, of Hays, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society in Ellis, KS. She was born on December 13, 1952, in Quinter, KS to Rudolph Albert and Helen Marie (Stithem) Balluch.

Rulene's formative years were spent in WaKeeney, KS, where she graduated from Trego Community High School and later pursued her passion for cosmetology at Northwest Kansas Technical College. Rulene was twice married: to Richard Brown in 1985 and later to Louis A. Rosproy on December 28, 2007, in Hays, KS.

Having divided her time between WaKeeney and Hays, KS, Rulene was known for her expertise in hair styling, owning several successful salons, including the Mane Attractions in Hays, KS. Her artistic talents extended beyond hairdressing; she enjoyed collecting figurines, knitting, crocheting, and creating beautiful works of art. Rulene had a special affinity for cows and cherished the moments she spent traveling with her beloved sister.

Rulene is survived by her sister, Pamela (Joseph) McNaught of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, Randall (Deb) Balluch and Patrick Balluch of WaKeeney, KS; sister-in-law, Karla Balluch of Wills Point, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis Rosproy, son Clayton Brown, and brother Richard Balluch.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church in WaKeeney on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Christ the King Cemetery, WaKeeney, Kansas.
