Logan, KS resident Michael Bruce Alberding passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at his home at the age of 81.
Bruce was born December 23, 1940, in Alva, Oklahoma, the son of Roy and Margaret (Good) Alberding. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and earned a Masters Degree from Kansas State University. He was a teacher for many years
He was married in June of 1981 to Sarah Elizabeth (Sally) Combs in Julesburg, CO. The couple lived in Walsh, CO for six years before moving to Logan in 1989. They also lived in Linn, KS, Russell, KS and Lyons, KS during the 1990’s before a move back to Logan in 1996. Bruce enjoyed all sports, especially KU basketball, KState football and the Kansas City Chiefs. He oftentimes had three different sporting events going at the same time in his living room. In his early years, he was an avid hunter and always enjoyed the company of a four-legged friend, most recently his dog, Max.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sally in 2001 and brother Keith.
Survivors include son Michael Alberding of Albuquerque, NM; step-son Robert Eugene Wyels of Kansas City, KS; a sister Gayle Jackson and husband Tom of North Newton, KS and sister-in-law Judi Alberding of Paola, KS.
Cremation was planned. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, Kansas.
