Robert Clayton Karrick was born on April 4th, 1952 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was the son of Robert L. and Dorothy M. (Anderson) Karrick. He attended Wichita North High School and entered the work force soon after. Robert “Bob” worked for Lamar Candy and Tobacco Company for a few years and that is where he gained his name “The Candyman”. Bob found his way to the Wichita Eagle where he worked for 20+ years and eventually retired. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and being the life of the party.
He is survived by his son, Ryan and wife, Shannon, of Clearwater (daughters Katheryan, Jocelyn, Adelyan); and stepson, Shane Frasier and wife, Hannah, of Wichita; and son, Lance and wife, Annie, of Portis ( sons Waylan and Newlee). Bob is also survived by sisters Bonnie Mosher of Wichita and Debbie Thompson of Wichita and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vickie Lynn Carrell.
The family has would like to encourage anyone who would like to bring a motorcycle to the Portis City Park at 10:30AM for a procession out to the cemetery for the graveside.
