Thomas Francis “Tom” Schippers, age 67, of Wichita, Kansas, died Friday, October 28, 2022, at his home in Wichita. He was born September 5, 1955, in Hays, Kansas, to John F. and Armella M. (Baier) Schippers.
He married Rosann Marie (Rajewski) on November 22, 1980, in Victoria, Kansas. He was a 1973 graduate of Victoria High School, and graduated with a business degree from National College of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota. He and Rosann moved to Wichita in 1981, where he was a Certified Public Accountant with an emphasis in auditing and consulting. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita.
Tom played baseball, basketball and softball. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs; playing card games, especially Pinochle and Hearts; Beatles music; and Snickers candy bars. He was also an avid fan of athletics at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, which his children attended in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his children, Jessica Schippers, Matthew Schippers, Lucas Schippers and wife, Sarah, his granddaughters, Mary Schippers and Ruth Schippers, all of Wichita, KS; his mother, Armella Schippers, Olathe, KS; a sister, Catherine Spikes (Kirk), Olathe, KS; two brothers, Daniel Schippers (Mary Kay), Victoria, KS; and John F. Schippers, Jr. (Bobbi), Hays, KS; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, John F. Schippers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas, with Father Drew Hoffman officiating and assisted by Deacon Dave Kisner. Burial will be at Saint Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, all at the Basilica of St. Fidelis.
A vigil service and Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday, at the Basilica of St. Fidelis.
