Patricia A. “Pat” (McKenna) Hartzog, of Hoxie, KS, passed away on November 14, 2022, at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie, KS, at the age of 85.
She was born on October 29, 1937, to Theodore and Ruby (Rolland) McKenna in Oberlin, Kansas. She married Lloyd Krizek, and after he passed away on March 21, 1957, she married Earl Hartzog on April 20, 1958. She was blessed with 3 children: Mike, Virginia, and Harold.
Pat graduated from Jennings High School in 1956. She kept busy raising her children and later, Grandma Pat’s Daycare. She loved kids – everybody’s kids, and especially her family. She enjoyed working in her garden and giving away the fruits of her labor, oftentimes in the form of the jellies she made and her famous chocolate chip cookies. She very much loved traveling with Earl. She was an active member of the Christ Community Church.
Pat is survived by her children: Virginia Fullbright (Irlan) of Ellinwood, KS and Harold Hartzog of Hoxie; sister, Donna Chambers of McCook, NE; sister-in-law, Gloria McKenna of Colby, KS; 3 grandchildren: Brad Fullbright (Jodi), Cody Holzmeister (Christie), and Megan Jacques (Ryan); and 6 great-grandchildren: Kolton and Carli Fullbright, Kaylynn Holzmeister, Gabe, Rhythm and Ranger Jacques.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ruby McKenna; husbands, Lloyd Krizekand Earl Hartzog; son, Mike Krizek; brother, Edward McKenna; grandson Alan Fullbright; and daughter-in-law Yvette Hartzog.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Christ Community Church in Hoxie. Visitation will be Thursday 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
