Elsie Faye Wright, age 81, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on October 7, 1942, in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Uless Francis Turley, and Nora Marie Smith.

She spent most of her life in Scott City, moving from Missouri after residing there for two years. Elsie was a cosmetologist, waitress, and a loving homemaker. 

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas.

On October 21, 1956 she married Milton William Wright in Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on October 11, 1998, in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include her daughter Cindy Oeser of Scott City, Kansas, brother Clifford Turley of Garden Plains, Kansas, 11 grandchildren - Billie Jo Mortimore of Scott City, Kansas, Michelle Nix of Scott City, Kansas, Laurie Chavez of Scott City, Kansas, Joshua Bennett of Scott City, Kansas, Kurtis McDaniel of Scott City, Kansas, Amanda Corry of Sacramento, California, Catherine Jurado of Vernal, Utah, Jarod Wright of Bend, Oregon, Remington Wright of Kearney, Nebraska, Sterling Wright of Axtell, Nebraska and 17 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Nora Turley, husband Milton William Wright, sons  William (Bill) Wright, and Timothy Wright, daughter Patricia Atwood, siblings Marvin Turley, Melvin Turley, Teddie Turley, Wayne Turley, Dale Danny Turley, Jessie Wright, and Theda Thompson, and grandson Virgil Feldt. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas with Pastor Steve Payne presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be written to Parklane Nursing Home or Scott City Animal Rescue in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St., Scott City, Kansas, 67871. 

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
