Allen Spencer Ward, 63, of Norton, KS passed away April 17, 2024 at the Norton County Hospital. He was born October 14, 1960 in Norton, KS to Gwynn and Mary (Mathes) Ward.
Allen grew up on the family farm near Clayton and attended school there and then he graduated from Jennings High School in 1978. After high school, he attended Salina Area Technical School and studied electronics. Allen worked for Walter Motor Co. as a mechanic for many years. He was an all-around handyman; he could fix just about anything. He was also talented at making windchimes and woodworking, he even went as far as milling his own lumber. Allen enjoyed nature from watching birds and trapping animals to hunting bears in New Hampshire and Maine. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Allen is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Joshua) Stalder and her children: Jiah Johnson, Dominic Johnson, Liam Hester, Bjorn Hester, and Jonathan Stalder all of Beaver City, NE; sisters: Kris (Harold) Mizell of Norton and Gail (DeMerle) Eckart of Minneapolis, KS; stepmother, Judy Ward of Loveland, CO, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gwynn and Mary Ward and son, Michael Ward.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, April 26, 2024, at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in the Clayton Cemetery.
