Alita Joan (Fox) Popp, of Wilson, KS, passed away on January 21, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, KS. She was born on November 15, 1932, to Carl and Bertha (Chard) Fox at the family farm in Lincoln County, KS.
Alita graduated from Lucas High School and in April of 1951 she married Donald Casper. From this union two daughters were born: Donna and Carla. The marriage ended in 1986. She then met and fell in love with Clifford Popp, and they were married on June 2, 1993.
Alita worked as a cook for Wilson High School for 9 years. She then worked at Wilson Telephone Company for 26 ½ years until she retired in 1997.
She was an avid bowler and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she belonged to the choir and the Eve Circle. She enjoyed playing cards – win or lose, she was always ready for another game.
Alita is preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband; husband; sister, Irma; brother, Earl; and step-daughter, Cathy.
Those left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Donna Krug of Russell and Carla Parker of Pratt, KS; step-daughters, Carolyn Nondorf (Ben) and Michelle Jackson (Richard); step-son, Allan Popp (Debbie); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at the Wilson City Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
