Betty Hendershot

Betty Irene (Bradley) Hendershot passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. Betty was born in Quinter, KS to Charles “Buck” and Ruby (Galloway) Bradley on July 16, 1929.

Betty graduated from Trego County High School in WaKeeney, KS. She married Donnie Riedell and had two sons, Jim and Chuck. They both preceded her in death. Betty and Don were divorced and she later married Roger Hendershot. To this union, Roger and Betty had three girls, Colleen (Richard) Wolf, Larned; Tracey (Terry) Berry, WaKeeney; and Ginny Parker (Randy Schmitt), Hutchinson.

Betty was a homemaker all of her life and as Roger would sometimes say “could make a pound of hamburger, feed a family of seven”, and none of us ever went hungry. Betty also liked to knit for family and friends, displaying very intricate colorwork in her knitting skills. She also liked to garden and can, and taught her children to do the same.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Roger, sons Jim and Chuck Riedell, parents Charles and Ruby, brother Harold Bradley, and sister Maxine Hacker.
