Lillian Von Lintel, 104, Oakley, passed away in Garden City, on September 17, 2024, leaving behind a family of four children, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Lillian was born on February 9, 1920, on her family farm southwest of Oakley to George and Bertha (Katzenmeier) Ehrlich. She attended 12 years of school in Oakley and graduated in 1938.
After graduation she moved to Ada, Oklahoma, where she attended East Central Beauty College and received a Manager-Operator License. She took the State Board Exam in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and passed. On August 26, 1938, Lillian married her high school sweetheart, Leo Von Lintel. They spent many loving years together until his death in 1989.
She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oakley. Her deep faith, family, and friends were her life.
Lillian loved poetry and in her later years started to write poetry herself. She had two poems published, one in 2001 and one in 2002. She also enjoyed playing Bridge, dancing with her husband, camping, and riding bikes. Her family always came first, and after Leo died, they had yearly fun-filled family reunions in different states, including Kansas.
Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Bertha Ehrlich; sisters Viola, Clara, and Inez; brothers Donald and Norman; her husband, Leo Von Lintel; her daughter, Carol Lynne Fisher; and her grandson, Christopher Von Lintel (son of Lonnie).
Survivors include Lonnie Von Lintel (Maria), Miami, Florida; Lauren Heskett (Wayne), Wamego;
Lea Ann Scott (Jesse), Garden City; and Lucia Von Lintel (Marge), Cairo, New York.
Funeral services were Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oakley; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Oakley. Condolences can be sent to the family at baalmannmortuary.com.
