Janie Valverde Laurelez, died January 16th, 2024 at St Catherine Hospital of Garden City, Kansas. She was born Juan and Francis (Guebara) Valverde on September 5, 1958 in Rosebud, Texas.
Janie was born in Texas and moved to Garden City in March of 1974 where she attended school. She was a dedicated mother, good cook, and loving aunt, sister, and daughter. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and brought her much pride. She was a devoted foodie, collector of pictures and picture frames, and enjoyed riding her bike. She will be remembered for her quick wit and social natureShe is survived by her Children-Julia Laurelez and her Children-Xavier, Jasiah, Jaylynn, Kansas & Karma; Juan Laurelez and his Children- Qulaesha, Juan Jr, & Mathias; Salvador Laurelez and his Children-Evette, Fabian, Angelica, Aidan, Jovan & Salvador Jr; Ralph Laurelez and his Children- Dec, Damon, Destiny & Desmo; Candy Laurelez and her Children - Electra, Christopher, DeLisa & Krista; 7 Great Grandchildren; Father-John Valverde Sr & Siblings-Fernando Valverde, John G. Valverde Jr, Frankie Valverde, Carlotta Montoya and Sophia Funk.
She was preceded in death by her Mother-Francis Valverde and Brother-Freddie Valverde.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am, Monday January 22, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her mother.
