Kaen Thammavongsa joined his wife Chanxay Thammavongsa to the kingdom of Heaven on May 8, 2024, in Garden City, Kansas. He was surrounded by all his children and loved ones at St Catherine’s Hospital. He was born on May 1, 1943 at Ban Lakhin, Laos the son of Phay and Say Thammavongsa.
He immigrated with his family to the United States where they settled in Garden City Kansas in 1990. He recently celebrated his 81st Birthday with his children, grandchildren, and close friends. It cannot be overstated how much Kaen loved to hunt, fish, with the company of his children, grandchildren, and his close friends. While he enjoyed fishing all over Kansas, his favorite fishing spot was in Norton, Kansas, and you could often see him there every other weekend. Outside of his hobbies, Kaen took great joy from his grandchildren. He was an extremely doting grandfather doing everything he could for them and no ask from them was ever too great.
Kaen is survived by his son Jason (Manee Rattanaworanan) Thammavongsa, and his 4 daughters Noy Thammavongsa, Phon (Levi) Huber, Lamon (Leo) Bojorquez, Andi Thammavongsa, and 13 grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be this Friday May 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral home in Garden City Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday May 9, 2024, at Garnand Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Condolences may be post at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
