Clarence Braun Jr., 83, of Victoria, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.
He was born on April 19, 1940, the fourth child of eight children to Clarence P. and Pauline (Hammerschmidt) Braun.
Clarence grew up on the family farm three miles northwest of Victoria. He learned farming chores at an early age and was a hard worker. He worked for the city of Victoria for 16 years in the sanitation department and attended school in Victoria. He was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis.
His survivors include his brothers, Leroy Braun and wife, JoAnn, Victoria; Wayne Braun and wife, Edie, Hays; Allen Braun and wife Patti, Claremore, Okla.; his sister, Lorita Berens and husband, Ron, Great Bend; his brother-in-law, Tony Leiker, Wichita; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence P. and Pauline Braun; his sisters, Jeanette Leiker; and Mary Jane Unrein; and his infant sister, Darlene Braun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, 900 Cathedral Ave., Victoria, with celebrant, Father James Moster O.F.M. Cap.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, with a family Rosary at 10:45 a.m. all at The Basilica of St. Fidelis. The burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
The family suggests memorials be made payable to The Basilica of St. Fidelis in the care of Clines-Keithley Mortuary, 412 Main St., Victoria, KS 67671.
