Patrick S. Eastes, 60 years old, of Smith Center Kansas passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on April 16th, 2023.
He was born March 9, 1963, in Pratt, Kansas, to Jack and Dona (Dodson) Eastes.
Patrick dedicated most of his life to the emergency medical care services.
In the late '80s, he started as a volunteer fire fighter for Pratt, KS, and quickly fell in love with the idea of helping others, he chose to expand his education and knowledge by becoming an EMT - RN -and PARAMEDIC, he started work for Pratt county EMS, then moved to Halstead KS, working for yet another EMS, while branching out working in the ER at Saint Francis regional medical center in Wichita. In the early '90s, he became a paramedic.
In other years he worked at Pratt regional Medical Center, Hastings Nebraska hospital and flew with EagleMed.
In November of 2000, he made the decision to move to Smith Center, jumping on board to become the director of Smith County EMS! Patrick loved the community and always said he signed his life to this community, and this is where he always wanted to be, helping our county! Smith Center will always be our home!
Patrick loved watching his grand girls grow up, he will always be on that sideline rooting for Syd no matter the sport or event, softball volleyball basketball or gymnastics.
Embree is still young, but he loved getting down on the floor and playing with her whether it be with a ball, dolls or being served coffee and tea. He enjoyed every moment with his grand girls!
Patrick is survived by his wife Patricia (Gibson) Eastes; daughter Saisha-spouse Jeremy and granddaughter Embree; Son Ethan-spouse Jess and granddaughter Sydney; son Kale (of the home); brothers Zon (Peggy) Eastes and Jeff (Lynn) Eastes; Sister Kim-Nephews Wesley nieces Jackie, Lindsey, Jack, Brent and Brian.
He will truly be missed by not only his family but by many others.
