Gregory 'Chad' Burger, 54, of Kensington, Kansas, passed away on January 23, 2025. Born on July 21, 1970, in Salina to Shelley and Greg Burger, Chad attended Lucas Luray High School, graduated from Rexford High School, and later pursued studies at Colby County Community College. Chad’s life was a celebration of family, hard work, and cherishing the things he loved most.

Chad’s family meant everything to him. He was a proud husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family, whether it was celebrating milestones, sharing laughs, or just being there for each other. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. Chad never met a stranger—he had a way of connecting with people that made them feel like they had known him forever. His sense of humor drew people in, and he cherished every opportunity to strengthen those bonds. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy, and he took every chance to cheer them on, offer guidance, and show them how much they meant to him. Family gatherings were always brighter with Chad’s humor, stories, and the love he poured into every moment.

Chad loved to joke around and had a knack for making people smile. He was also incredibly dedicated to his work as a trucker, showing an unmatched work ethic and taking pride in doing the job right. His commitment to his work was a reflection of the values he lived by every day.

A huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Kansas Jayhawks, Chad was passionate about sports and loved the excitement of racing. Cheering on his favorite teams and racers brought him so much joy and camaraderie.

Chad leaves behind his beloved wife, Terri Nuzum, and his kids: Kirsten and Tyler Kaus, and their daughter Chesley Jo; Jonny Burger (Anna Owsley); Austin Herman and Brittany Hackerott, and their kids Grayson, Audrey, Abbey, and Calvin; Jordan Herman; Dyllan and Halee Nuzum, and their kids Charlee and Max; Dawndra Nuzum (David Robles); and Ciara Calhoon. He’s also survived by his mom, Shelley Barton and her husband, Randy Barton; his stepmom, Wilma Burger; and his siblings Jerome and Mandy Burger, Marcie Burger, Shanna and Jason Carroll, Denni and James Rehmer, Tia and Chris Penrod, Tanya Koehn; his sister- and brothers-in-law Bart and Donna Hamilton, and Mike Hudson; and his mother-in-law Sandy Hudson and many nieces and nephews.

Chad was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Burger; grandparents: Merle and Lois Burger, and Vaughn and Donna Humes.

A celebration of Chad’s life will be held at Thunder Ridge High School, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 10:00 am. The family welcomes everyone who knew Chad to join in honoring his memory by wearing something Chiefs or Kansas Jayhawks attire.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chad Burger Memorial Fund.

Chad’s big heart, sense of humor, and love for those around him will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work that will be cherished forever.
