Garden City- Eunice A. Dinkel, 84, died on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born on April 18, 1939 in Graham County, Kansas the daughter of George & Anna Mae (Eichman) Martell. She married Melvin J. Dinkel on June 3, 1961 at St. Peter. He died on August 10, 2020.
Eunice attended school in Damar and Palco and graduated from Palco High School. Before her marriage she worked at a doctors office in Hill City. She and her husband moved to Garden City from Goodland in 1979. She worked for Garden City Co-op for 25 years, retiring as the Office Manager. She was a member of St Dominic Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering with RSVP and answering the phone at the Finney County Senior Center along with trips to the casino. She also enjoyed her family gatherings.
She is survived by her 5 Children- Daryl & Marty Dinkel. John Dinkel and Brian & Shiela Dinkel all of Garden City, Tim & Latisha Dinkel of Montgomery, Texas and Ann & Luther Britton of Jackson, Michigan, 16 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son- Mark Dinkel, 2 Brothers- Charles Martell and Kendall Martell and Sister- Mary Eileen Klaus.
Rosary will be at 9:30 AM Friday followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM both at St Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City with Rev Tim Hickey as Celebrant. The Mass will be livestreamed on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 PM Thursday with family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home.
