Armellia Marie (Meyer) Reiter, age 86, of WaKeeney, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in WaKeeney, Kansas. Armellia was born March 28, 1937, on the family farm in Meredith Township, to the late Francis and Laurette (LeDuc) Meyer.

Armellia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a caring and giving woman who dedicated her retirement years to helping children through the Foster Grandparent Program at Wakeeney Grade School for over 15 years. Family was of utmost importance to Armellia, and she cherished her time with her loved ones. In addition to the dedication to her family, Armellia was a lifetime member of The Eagle's Aerie #3774. She enjoyed working outdoors in her flower garden, where she found solace and beauty. Armellia's legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, who will reminisce her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.

Armellia is survived by her son; Allan Reiter (Lisa) of Ellis, Kansas, and their daughters Olivia Brungardt (Brandon) and Haley Reiter; daughters Cynthia Norris of Springfield, Missouri, and her daughter Jessica Osbourn, Deborah Reiter of El Dorado, Kansas, and her children Chad McCoy (Karri), Matthew McCoy (Jessica) and Jenna Vice (Nate), Pamela Thompson (Ron) of Colby, Kansas, and her children Zeth Thompson (Jessica), Zachery Thompson, and Zenaeh Siefers (Benjamin); 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Kenneth Meyer (Helen) of Salina, Kansas, Bernard Meyer (Melba) of Colby, Kansas; step-brother Robert Schrandt (Trudy) of Walpole, Massachusetts; sister Phyllis McAllister of Overland Park, Kansas; step-sisters Kris Nelson (JB) of Delphos, Kansas, Mary Alice Wink of Semmes, Alabama; sister-in-law Marian Meyer of Grand Island, Nebraska; and step-sister-in-law Betty Schrandt of Lansing, Kansas.

Armellia was preceded in death by her parents; Francis Meyer (Laurette); the father of her children William “Bill” Reiter; brothers Lynwood and Richard Meyer; step-brothers Steve and William Schrandt; and step-brother-in-law Robert Wink.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney, Kansas. Sunday evening, January 21, a visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary Prayer Service directly following. She will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s / Meredith Township Cemetery, located in Aurora, Kansas, on Monday, January 22, at 3:30 p.m.
