Collin Anthony Rous, Prairie Village

Collin Anthony Rous, 31, of Prairie Village, KS passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 1:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson Road, Mission, KS. A private burial will follow at a later date.
Collin was born on January 24, 1992, in Hays, KS. A graduate of Colby High School, class of 2010, he continued his education at Colby Community College and Kansas State University, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed as a mechanical engineer in the Kansas City area for eight years.
Collin was a friend to many, bringing his infectious laugh and joyful demeanor to every interaction. He enjoyed working on home renovation projects, playing board games with friends, spending time with their dog, Ollie, traveling with loved ones and simply enjoying others’ company. A lover of knowledge, he was always ready to learn something new - from the kitchen and the garden to electrical and plumbing. He freely shared that knowledge with family and friends - always interested in any new project.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Winifred and Clarence Rous, half-brother Kevin Rous, maternal grandmother Karen Schumacher and stepgrandfather Norman Staats.
Collin is survived by his wife of six years Anna (Juenemann) Rous; father Vernon Rous; mother Tanya (Brian) Staats; sisters Charell (Jeremy) Owings; Cierra (Darin) Einsel; stepsister Chanelle Staats; numerous nieces and nephews; loving in-laws; extended family; and friends.
