Paul Dinkel, age 75, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at his home in Stilwell, OK. He was born on August 18, 1949, in Hays, Kansas to Nicholas and Leoba (Geist) Dinkel. Paul was a dedicated and loving husband to Darlene (Johnson), whom he married on May 17, 1980. She preceded him in death July 4, 2015.

He worked for Leo Groff as a teenager in Ellis, Kansas, then moved to Denver to work construction with his brothers. He then moved to Stilwell, Oklahoma and worked for Tyson where he retired after working there for many years. After his retirement he worked for Stuteville Ford in Tahlequah delivering vehicles. In his spare time, he enjoyed crocheting, genealogy, visiting with family and friends, new and old, as well as lending a hand at the Stilwell Senior Center. Paul never met a stranger.

He was a proud member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He served as eucharistic minister and often led the rosary before church. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Wefer of Haskell, OK, and Andrea Brown-Harris, OK; brothers, LeRoy Dinkel, Golden, CO, Verlin Dinkel, Henderson, NV, Larry Dinkel, Ellis, KS, Pat Dinkel, Broomfield, CO; sisters, Florence Honas, Chanute, KS, Bernice Klaus, Salina, KS; his grandchildren; LaVonna Darling, Glenpool, OK, Anthony Moss, Greencastle, PN; Danyeal Lacy and Dakota Harris, of Stilwell, OK, great grandchildren Racquelle Galloway, Juniper Moss, and James Hoban; great-great grandchildren, Cora Burklin and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was a remarkable father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, brother, and uncle.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Leoba; his wife, Darlene, as well as his brothers; Mark, Infant brother Marvin, Marvin, Alan, LaVerne, Kenneth and infant Verlin and a sister, Mary Ann Legleiter.

Funeral services are pending and will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellis, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to be used according to the wishes of the family to be designated at a later date and may be made payable to Keithley Funeral Homes.
