Agnes I. Leiker, 96, of Hays, Kansas died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living, Hays, KS. She was born April 15, 1928, in Walker, KS to John and Catherine (Scheck) Riedel. She married Alvin Leiker on September 3, 1947, in Walker, KS. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2007.
She was a retired homemaker who loved her family and her faith more than anything. She enjoyed family game time, playing cards and baking cookies with the grandkids. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and an 80-year member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her son, Allen Leiker and wife, Nancy of Summerfield FL; four daughters, Peggy Dinkel, Mary Mellick and husband Ron, and Betty Wolf, all of Hays, and Linda Kepka and husband Mike of Dorrance KS; 16 grandchildren; 3 step- grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren;8 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Josie Braun, Victoria; sisters-in- law, Lidwina Ruder, Marilyn Riedel, Zita Riedel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Ann Louise; sons-in-law, Jim Dinkel and Rick Wolf; her siblings, Amanda, Evelyn, Herb, Margaret, Alvin Ray, Marie, Alvin J., Frank, Marcellus, Catherine, and John Jr.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Wednesday, May 15, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a D of I rosary at 5:30 PM followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 PM. Wednesday visitation will be 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM all at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock’s Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601Memorials are suggested to Brookdale Senior Living, Hays, or Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.
