Marilyn “Anne” Ochs, age 77, of Quincy died on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. in Sunset Home. Anne was born in Iola, Kan. on Oct. 1,1945, a daughter of Cody and Marie (Riedel) Ochs.
Professionally, she was a Banker beginning her career in 1972 with Intrust Bank of Wichita, Kan. from where she retired on Oct. 1, 1995.
She attended Mount St. Mary’s Convent in Wichita, Kan. and St. Mary of the Plains Boarding School in Dodge City, Kan. and Hoisington High School in Hoisington, Kan. where she was raised.
Anne was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Quincy.
Anne had lived in many places, including Bethany, Okla., Moscow, Idaho, Carson City, Nev., Wichita, Kan., Mexico, Mo., Denver, and Loveland, Colo. and Quincy, Ill. When her boys were youths, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Anne sang in various church choirs and in her free time she liked doing crafts.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony J. McDowell and Andrew Martin Funk. A grandson, Jacob A. Bell; one brother, Darrell Wolf; two sisters, Susan M. Engelhart and Nancy Shackelford; son-in-law, John C. Berrey and daughter-in-law, Diem Tran. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, and brother C. Joseph Ochs.
Cremation Inurnment Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington, Kansas, with Father Warren Stecklein presiding.
