Judy Rae Kistler, 77, of Colby, died Monday, May 16, 2022, in Kansas
City, MO. She was born August 11, 1944, in Topeka, KS, to Leonard and
Helen (Spencer) Cook. Judy graduated from Topeka West High School.
Judy was a real-estate broker in Colby for over 20 years. She was active
in the Colby Chamber of Commerce and was on the hospital board when
Citizens Medical Center was built. Judy was a dog lover and K-State fan.
She had a green thumb and a love of gardening that led her to complete
the Extension Master Gardener program through K-State. Judy enjoyed
tending to her many indoor and outdoor flowers and plants as well as the
landscapes she designed. She was a member of the Berean Church, in
Colby, and was actively involved with the church’s youth programs. On
June 7, 1980, Judy married Hal Kistler, in Colby.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Hal; sons, Travis (Sara) Oliver and Tyler
(Julie) Oliver; grandchildren, Alyson Oliver, Kennedy Oliver and Wyatt
Oliver and brother James (Sherry) Cook.
A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1,
2022, at the Berean Church, Colby, with inurnment in the Summers
Township Cemetery, Colby. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes
