Julia Jo “Julie” Lochmann, 68, Hays, died Saturday, December 23, 2023 at her home.
She was born August 5, 1955, in Wichita, the daughter of George R. “Dick” and Virginia Marie (Graham) Lochmann. In 1973, she graduated from Hays High School. She worked as a line supervisor at several manufacturing companies. Julie was a member of Westview Church. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.
After retiring, she loved music and going to concerts, cheering for the KC Chiefs and KU Basketball, watching Yellowstone, trips to the lake, and driving in the country. Throughout her life, she passionately loved her pet dogs and cats and all animals in general. She was a great cook and specialized in fried chicken. She loved to laugh and was also tender-hearted. Most of all, Julie loved her family and cherished celebrating holidays with them.
Survivors include her two daughters, Faith Lochmann and Christin Baxter, both of Hays, four sisters, Lana Ross of Dodge City, Janis Anderson of Larned, Jorgie Dreiling of Antonino, and Bonnie Rudzik of Cimarron, a granddaughter, Hannah Baxter and fiancé Jordan Dietze, a great granddaughter, Indigo Dietze, and a special lifelong friend, Raymond Jensen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dickie Lochmann and John Steinmitz.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Westview Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mount Allen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains.
