Barbara Ann McDonald, 82, passed away on December 10, 2022, at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. She was born on December 4, 1940, on the family farm in Ness County, Kansas, the daughter of William and Barbara (Braun) Deiser.
Barbara was a LPN where she worked as a nurse at the Ransom Nursing Home and Clinic until her retirement at the age of 70. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church and Altar Society in Ransom. She married Joseph McDonald on February 4, 1961, in Ness City, Kansas. He passed away on November 27, 2010.
Survivors include her son, William McDonald of Ransom; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Steve) Maier of Brownell, Debra Hamilton of Ness City; son-in-law, Alan Mishler of Hollister, MO; sister, Ida LeTourneau of Black, AL; 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph McDonald; daughter, Susan McDonald-Mishler; grandson, T.J. Hellerud; 3 brothers, Eugene, William, Alban Deiser; and 4 sisters, Mary Deiser, Leoba Kinney, Hedwig Stegman, and Hilda Deiser.
Parish Vigil will be on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, at 6:30 P.M. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, 10:30 A.M., at the St. Aloysius Church, Ransom, Kansas. Burial in the Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell, Kansas. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
