Cheryl A. Pauley, 79, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Southeast Colorado Hospital District in Springfield, Colorado. She was born July 25, 1944, in Lewis, Kansas, the daughter of Franklin Elwood & Thelma Frances (Milhon) Meeker.

As a young child, Cheryl moved with her family to Garden City where she attended Garden City schools. She then attended Cosmetology school in Wichita, Kansas. A longtime resident of Garden City, Cheryl lived in Lakin, Kansas from 1964 to 1978, returning to Garden City. For more than 43 years, Cheryl worked as a beautician, and she owned and operated Shear Techniques for several years. Cheryl later worked for 6 years at Pizza Hut in Garden City. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and loved to spend her time bowling, gardening, and shooting at the gun range.

On October 3, 1964, she married Joe Baier in Garden City, Kansas. Cheryl later married Lanny Pauley on August 4, 1991, in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter Michelle Nicholson of Holcomb, Kansas; a son Matthew & wife Teresa Baier of Cheyenne, Wyoming; six grandchildren Jacob (Caty) Nicholson, Dalton Nicholson, Darian (Cody) Nicholson, Kylea Baier, Tyler (Amanda) Lounsberry, & Cody (Carman) Lounsberry; and five great-grandchildren. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; a son Michael Baier; and a brother Lonnie Dewayne Meeker.

Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Flat Mountain Brewery in Garden City, Kansas. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorials given to the Memory Care Unit at Southeast Colorado Hospital District in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Condolence may be given at garnandfuneralhomes.com.
