Margaret Louise AraSmith, 90, of Hartford City, IN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home. She was born in Logan County, KS to Clifford and Ula (Logsden) McGuire on April 2, 1934.
Margaret married William Arasmith on April 10, 1950, in Densmore, KS and the two spent many happy years together until William’s passing.In her younger years Margaret was an Elementary School teacher. During her years as a teacher, she was very involved with her students, coaching both the girls’ 7th and 8th grade basketball team as well as the gymnastics team, winning two large gymnastic competitions. She loved to help children and in later life she continued this through her involvement in the Kids Club in Rexford as well as Bible School. Magaret loved to help people which led to her working as a CMA in the home health care industry as well. She was a woman of many talents and had several hobbies, playing piano, painting, decorating cakes and singing to name just a few. She was a member of the Rexford Community Church for many years as well as the Red Barn Gang.
Margarets favorite thing was her family and she will be sadly missed by her children, Linda I. (Byron Chase) AraSmith-Chase of Hartford City, IN, Patrick L. AraSmith of Goodland, KS and Amanda L. (Shawn) Buettner of Hartford City, IN; her grandchildren, James S. AraSmith, Nancy (Valentin) Guerra, LeWayne McGuire, Secaley Palmer, Shawnalee Schwarz, Rocky Parker Jr., Joshua (Emily) Buettner and Margaret Buettner; great grandchildren, Crystal Clark, Mia Palmer, Devin Barrand, Carmen Barrand, Jaden Schwarz, Jayda Schwarz, Isiah Schwarz, Trinity Parker, Amarissa AraSmith, Gracie AraSmith, Jeffery Buettner, Keira Barton, Tyler Ownes, Jordan Ownes, Megan McGuire, Sammual McGuire, Isabella McGuire and Alex McGuire as well as an abundance of great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ula McGuire; her husband, William AraSmith; sons, Everett L. AraSmith and Michael W. AraSmith; grandson, Michael McGuire; great granddaughter, Brook Owens; brother Raymond McGuire and an infant brother that passed at birth.
Services will be Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rexford Community Church, 205 Main St Rexford, KS 67753. Burial will follow at the Hawkeye Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kids Club, 205 Main St Rexford, KS 67753. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
