Thomas Larry Post, passed away on February 8, 2024 surrounded by his family at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS at the age of 73. He was born January 8, 1951 in Norton, KS, the son of Earl & Alpha (Ray) Post.
Tom grew up in Logan, KS and graduated from Logan High School. On June 17, 1972, he married Rebecca Orr, his best friend and soulmate. To this union they had three children, Dustin, Larry, and Christina. He had a longtime career in the oilfield. He worked in all aspects of oil production which took him from Logan, to WaKeeney, KS to southern Nebraska, to Medicine Lodge, KS. He retired and made his home outside of Pratt, KS where he enjoyed his days maintaining the large yard and "tinkering" in the shed with his dog Zeus. He found the most joy in life spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. His fondest memories included family time at the cabin in Colorado, fishing trips with grandkids to various state lakes, and traveling with lifetime dear friends, DD and Connie Breese. He will be most remembered for his fierce devotion to family, his strong work ethic, and his love of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frankie and Ronald; sisters, Ann Lowry and Marilyn Ross; brothers-in-law, Eugene Ross, Gene Holmes, Joe Breese and Jack Campbell.
Survivors include wife Rebecca of the home in Pratt; sons, Dustin (Tracey) of Kansas City, Larry (Michelle) of WaKeeney; daughter, Christina (Kevin) Fowler of Cheney; brothers, David and Norman; sisters, Mary Lou Breese, Lola Campbell and Barbara Holmes; grandchildren; Allison and Cooper Deeter, Korbin Post, Paige (Tanner) Sells, Andrew and Brayden Post, Kaitlyn, Casen and Camrie Fowler.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in the Logan Free Methodist Church with Roger Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 Monday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson Cancer Research Center.
