Charles Edward Rebarchek

Charles Edward Rebarchek of Grinnell passed away Aug. 18, 2023, at the Logan Countyenior Living in Oakley. Charles, aka Chuck, was born March 17, 1957, in Scott City, to Milton Rebarchek and Norma (Russell) Rebarchek.

He grew up at Grinnell and attended school at Grinnell and Healy. After graduating from Healy High School, he joined the Marines, serving from 1978 to 1981. After returning home, he lived and worked in western Kansas until 1984. At this time, he moved to Ohio. In May 2017, Chuck moved back to Gove County to spend more time with his father and siblings. He loved to garden, fish and play cards.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Norma (Russell) Rebarchek; grandparents Amil and Carrie (George) Rebarchek and Charlie and Julia (Ragsdale) Russell; brothers Eugene Rebarchek and Kenneth Rebarchek; infant sister Frances Rebarchek; brother-in-laws Robert Bland and Jerry Yates; sister-in-law Pamela (Pearson) Rebarchek; and grandsons Donavan Rebarchek and Devin Wallen.

He is survived by his adopted children Jeff Rebarchek and Josh Rebarchek of Findlay, Ohio, and Tiffany and husband Robert Reyes of Aransas Pass, Texas; grandchildren Kody Rebarchek of Findlay, Ohio, Sierra Rebarchek and Sawyer Rebarchek both of North Carolina, Dalton Wallen, Tyler Reyes, and Analisia Reyes, all of Aransas Pass, Texas.; great-grandchildren Donavan Rebarchek Jr., Christian, Raiden, and Octavia Wallen; sisters Norma Gayle Bland of Gove and Nancy Yates of Oakley; brothers Frank Rebarchek of Scott City, Cecil and wife Becky Rebarchek of Healy, Neil Rebarchek of Grinnell, Alvin Rebarchek of Wakeeney; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will have a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 9, 2023, at the Gaeland Township Cemetery at Orion, Kan., with Pastor Rocky Schmeid officiating. The family and friends will gather after the service at the city park in Gove to share memories of Chuck's life.
