Kenneth E. Price, 82, passed away July 20, 2024 at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita.
He was born November 2, 1941 in Larned, the son of Lester Kenneth and Aline Clarabel Irion Price.
Kenneth was a lifetime resident of Garfield, Kansas. He grew up on the Price Farm, a Holstein Dairy Farm, northwest of Garfield, in Pleasant Ridge Township. He grew up as a member of the Garfield Boosters 4-H club. He attended Garfield Schools, graduating from high school in 1960. He then attended Hutchinson Community College where he went on to work in Wichita Aircraft Mfg, lastly working with Lear Jet. He married Carol Whitman on April 27, 1968 in Wichita, Kansas. He served two years active duty in the US Army at Ft. Carson, Colorado. He was a member of the Garfield United Methodist Church and Garfield American Legion Post 300. Kenneth and Carol farmed in Pawnee County and he worked at Larned State Hospital and Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility. He enjoyed his passions of farming, hunting, fishing, and family gatherings.
Survivors include: his wife of fifty-six years, Carol Price; two daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Hall, Salina, Ericka (Chad) Davis, Ellsworth; brother, Lester L. (Janet) Price, Allen, Texas; two sisters, Kay E. Roberts, Grove, Oklahoma, Carole A. (Michael H.) Tudor, Fairland, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Michaela (Randy) Picking, Kelsie (Ariel) Hall, Drew Davis, Emersyn Davis; four great grandchildren, Elias Williams, Rylan Picking, Raelynn Picking, Abby Picking, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathleen Cheryl Spillman.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Bill Stapleton presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery with military graveside rites.
