Coy Duaine “Dewey” Christy, 91, passed away on June 25, 2023 in Lenora, KS. He was born on Sept. 16, 1931 in Denver, CO to Ray and Beulah (Stuchlik) Christy.
Dewey had fond memories of being at his grandparents’ farm in Strasburg, Colorado growing up. He was a hard worker as a young boy in Denver and had a paper route.
He attended high school in Denver, before enlisting in the US Navy from Jan. 8, 1951 to Nov. 1, 1954, serving on the USS Essex CVS-9.
He worked in Denver for Gates Rubber Company for many years and then moved to Kansas to help his aunt on her farm and ended up making Kansas his home. He retired from farming in 2009.
He married Lila D. Christy in January of 1995;hey later divorced.
He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his cousins, friends, and neighbors. Graveside services will be held in Edmond Cemetery on July 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.AM with military honors.
