Trevor E. McLaughlin, 36, Hays, died Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Cheyenne County Hospital in St. Francis of injuries from an oilfield accident.
He was born October 7, 1985, in Hays the son of Craig and Chris (Miller) McLaughlin. On July 21, 2012, he was united in marriage to Kara Norris. Trevor worked as a roughneck for Murfin Drilling Company and was a member of Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, and was an avid sports fan. Trevor possessed a generous spirit, fun sense of humor, and love for babies. Most of all, he loved his children.
Survivors include his parents: Craig and Chris McLaughlin of Hays, wife: Kara McLaughlin of Armour, SD, four sons: Taj, Kingston, and Kamden McLaughlin, all of Hays and Tai Riot of Ellis, a daughter: Kynleigh McLaughlin of Hays, a brother: Trent McLaughlin and wife Amber of Ogallah, a sister: Jessie Meyers and husband Alex of Aurora, CO, grandparents: Frank and Deanna Miller of Victoria, five uncles: Galen McLaughlin, Mark Wilson, and Monte Wilson, all of Hays, Terry Wilson and wife Dana of Hot Springs, AR, and Gerald Miller and wife Carla of Dodge City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles and Loretta Wilson and two uncles: Dennis McLaughlin and Randy Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Simon and Pastor Jason Murray officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time at the church.
