Debra S. (Engler) Erb, 71, passed away on January 27, 2025 at Residence Begonia II at Crestview Senior Living in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born July 11, 1953, in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Herman and Colleen (Salmans) Engler. 

Debra was a 1971 graduate of Ness City High School.  Following graduation, she married Paul Schwien, on May 29, 1971.  To this union, they had twin boys, (Cory and Barry), that she loved dearly.  They later divorced. 

On December 15, 1995, she married Rod Erb in Hays, Kansas.  They later moved to Ransom, Kansas.

Debra enjoyed working at the Ransom Library, where she loved reading books and playing games with all of the children, especially her grandchildren.  She made the best mulberry dumplings and butterball soup, and she loved sharing it with her family.  She spoiled the grandchildren with an endless supply of Dr. Thunder, and a freezer full of Uncrustables.  She had a passion for Kansas University Basketball, and caring for her two dogs, Mollie and Sammy.

Debra is survived by husband Rod Erb, of Ransom; her children, Cory (Tracee) Schwien of Ness City, and Barry (Sharla) Schwien of Bazine; a sister Mary (Fred) Erb of Longmont, Colorado; a brother Jeff (Jennifer) Smith of Ness City; as well as 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Patty (Neil) Meckfessel of Rozel, Kansas.

Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., at the Ness City Methodist Church, Ness City, Kansas.  Burial in the Ness City Cemetery, Ness City, Kansas.  Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Ransom Library.
