Dighton- Gordon W. Strickert, 72, died on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Lane County Hospital in Dighton. He was born on January 25, 1952 at Scott City the son of Gilbert & Doris Marie (Harkness) Strickert.

Gordon attended Horace Mann school in Denver and graduated from Denver North High School in 1970. He started working at Standard Fencing Company and Denver City Housing Authority before opening his own garage Car Tech Auto. In 1992 he moved to Dighton and started working at Regnier Repair as a mechanic. He then became a Partner in Main Street Auto. His final occupation was being a “Cowboy” raising cattle is what he loved.

In his earlier years was a good baseball pitcher and earned a tryout with the Kansas City Royals. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his casino trips and following his family and coach us all in sports. He was involved in drag racing “Mopars” and later he and his son did dirt track racing together.

He is survived by his Wife- Julie Strickert, 5 Children- Jamie Strickert of Escondido, California, Jeff Strickert of Thornton, Colorado, Jason Strickert of Raytown, Missouri, Susie Wiechman of Scott City and Kyle Strickert of Holcomb, Step-Mother- Audrey Strickert of Lakewood, Colorado, 2 Sisters- Belinda Hurst of Littleton, Colorado and Judy Denton of Marquette, 12 Grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

He is predeceased by his Parents, Daughter- Cheri Strickert and 2 Sisters- Susan Garner and Melinda Strickert.

Graveside Service will be at 10:30 AM Friday at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.
