Gail Lamberson, age 73, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Western Prairie Senior Living Community in Ulysses. He was born October 28, 1950, in Dumont, Texas, the son of Wilber Lee and Tempie (Overton) Lamberson.
Gail came to Ulysses at 3 years old and was a member of the Ulysses High School Class of 1968. Gail was inducted into the United States Army and served until his Honorable Discharge in April of 1972. He married Sharlett Betterton on March 21, 1970, in Ulysses. His hobbies included working with stained glass, restoring old cars, drag racing, and attending and showing his 1997 SS Camaro SLP at car shows. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and attending their activities. Gail worked at Webber Supply, owned and operated Gail Lamberson Pump Service, and retired from Minter-Wilson Well Service after 20 plus years of service. He was a member of the Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79 in Ulysses and served on the Funeral Honor Guard for years.
Gail is survived by his wife, Sharlett of their home; daughters, Tess Peden and husband, Kurtis, and Brandi Salinas and husband, Francisco, all of Ulysses; brothers, Kenneth Lamberson of North Carolina, Garry Lamberson of Washington, Wayne Lamberson of Ulysses; sister, Ginger Kilburn of Missouri; four grandchildren, Tyler Peden and wife, Alexis, Tanner Peden, Braysen Salinas, and Jaxsen Salinas; and two great-grandchildren, Finn and Miles Peden.
Gail is preceded in death by his parents; Wilber and Tempie Lamberson; brothers, James, Gene, Earl, Arcine, Glynn, Rod, and David Lamberson.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses with military rites conducted by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79.
