Larry Wayne Stieben, Otis
Larry Wayne Stieben, 74, Otis, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at his home.
Larry was born June 30, 1949, in Rush County, Kansas, the son of Norman W. and Alice E. (Weltmer) Stieben. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.
A 1967 graduate of Otis Rural High School, Otis, Kansas, he was a mechanic at Stieben Service and Garage, Otis, Kansas, a family owned and operated business.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Otis, Kansas. Larry was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Larry was a Chevy man, a NASCAR enthusiast, and enjoyed mowing the lawn, and working on small engines. You would find him during football and basketball season watching his beloved Chiefs and KU Jayhawks.
On November 19, 1977, he married Patricia “Patty” Jurgensen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Stieben, Otis, Kansas; two daughters, Tara Brummett (Patrick), Cleveland, Missouri, and Hope Stieben, El Dorado, Kansas; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with Stan Ewy, SAM officiating. Interment with military honors by the United States Air Force, and the Bazine and La Crosse American Legion Posts will be in the Otis Methodist Cemetery, Otis, Kansas.
