Laurine F. Werth, 90, Schoenchen, died Thursday, July 14, 2022, at HaysMed.

She was born June 4, 1932, in Schoenchen, the daughter of Frank and Lidwina (Tauscher) Werth.  She married Larry Werth (Nick and Magdalena Werth family) on September 26, 1949, in Schoenchen, and they were married 64 years before he preceded her in death on March 8, 2014.  They lived several years in Wichita and returned to Schoenchen where they farmed and operated a sand business for many years.  She cherished her home and family and was known as an excellent cook to all who were welcomed to her home.  She was a member of St. Anthony Church and the St. Anthony Altar Society.

Survivors include three sons: Michel Werth, Nicolas Werth and wife Katie, both of Schoenchen, and Todd Werth of Udall, a daughter: Janel Moore and husband Orville of Hays, two sisters: Mary Ann Rendt and Genevieve Mendenhall, both of Wichita, 11 grandchildren: Fr. Joshua Werth, Lucy Mullen, Alexandra Wessel and husband Brad, Russ Moore and wife Jana, Leigh Ann Edmonds and husband Casey, John Moore and wife Chelsea, Curtis Moore and wife Staci, Zachary Werth and wife Jessica, Alysha Bieberle and husband Zell, Connor Werth, and Tanner Diehl, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, seven brothers: Francis Jr., Fred, Robert F., Irvin, Glenn Richard, Ernie, and Steve Werth, and two sisters: Lillian Graf and Cheryl Kay Thomas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, July 18, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Schoenchen with Fr. Joshua Werth officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Sunday and from 9:00 am until 9:30 on Monday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
